Priced to be accessible to more people, SiblingSmyth dresses are designed to be worn and loved for many years while leaving a much lighter carbon footprint on the world than conventional fashion brands.

Our Founder

Having worked in the fast fashion industry in London for a decade and seeing how the environmental and ethical problems were being consciously ignored, I dreamed of creating a clothing brand that developed fashion the right way.  From using sustainable materials and non-damaging dying practises to caring who makes the garments and how they are packaged.

To be more sustainable, it’s not just about how the yarn is grown and made but also about how the garment is crafted. Good quality in the fabric and make of garments is key to ensure they last year after year. My dresses are designed to be flattering, comfortable and timeless.

In my search for the right manufacturers to partner with, I was lucky enough to find Masala Threads, a fashion agency based in India who helped to ensure an ethical and sustainable supply chain from start to finish. They care greatly about the environment and the local community and are on site to ensure comfortable and fair working standards are continually met.

Now the journey of my dresses from plant to garment is not quite perfect as yet but I will be constantly looking to evolve and improve as better options become available and practical. Any plastic used in the manufacturing of my dresses is recycled, like the elastic in the shirring and the garment bag the dresses need to be packed in to ship them from India undamaged. I also fully plan to offset all the carbon I’m responsible for from day one of starting this business, details of such to hopefully follow soon…
